Ars nova music academy of Trieste organizes the music competition named
“Ars Nova International Music Competition Trieste - Paolo Spincich award”.

The auditions will take place on line from 25th  April 2021.

It is addressed to young students and children who dedicate themselves to the study of music in public and private institutions worldwide.

Regulations video:

A recorded video can be sent until 25 April 2021.

Hands and face must be visible on the video, for piano also the keyboard and pedals.

The video cannot be cut or edited, only one video is allowed even if different pieces are played.

The video can be made with video camera, smartphone, tablet or professional systems.

In the video message it is necessary to indicate the instrument, the category, name and surname.

All the videos submitted will be uploaded to the “arsnovacompetition” Youtube channel, starting from April 20th. Sending the video automatically authorizes its publication on Youtube.

PS: The video submitted for the Ars Nova Competition must not have been previously used in other contests.


This edition of the competition is dedicated to the celebration of 600 years between the end of the patriarchate of Aquileia and the Venetian domination of the territories of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
It is possible to compete for this special prize by regulation. It is possible to perform an ancient piece composed during the Venetian period or to perform one of these transcriptions and (contemporary) variations of the medieval discantus originating from the patriarchate of Aquileia.

It is possible to participate in a second special prize "best performance of a piece by a composer from Friuli Venezia Giulia".

Section III of Flute is made in collaboration with the Trieste Flute Association. All those registered in the Flute section will be able to participate free of charge in the Trieste Flute Day Masterclass


All participants will be able to participate for free in the summer masterclasses organized by the Academia Ars Nova from 5 to 9 July 2021 in Trieste of piano, violin, flute, chamber music.
